At 1500 meters above sea level, the Genting Group has
developed this highland into a holiday retreat resort in the
form of hotel rooms and apartments, theme park, entertainment centre,
fine restaurants and local and international
seminar and convention halls. There is a marvelous golf
course and endless choice of activities. It was established
in 1965.

It has not only
turned into a popular and major holiday destination among the
locals but also internationally. With a minimum
of 5,000 rooms available, Genting
Highlands offers a wide range of accommodation to suit all
tastes and
budgets. There are many hotels and apartments, restaurants and fast
food centers available. The twinkling lights in the sky which
can be seen on a clear night from
Kuala Lumpur denote the nearness of the Genting Highlands. An ideal
destination for drawing visitors from all over the region to
appreciate the cool
weather, lush greenery and the wide range of family oriented
recreational activities.
Among the newest attractions is the
Genting Skyway, a mono cable car system. Some of the
activities in the highlands are ten pin bowling, snooker, horse
riding, jungle trekking, golf and swimming in the heated indoor
pool. Access to Genting is by road
and there is a regular bus service from
Kuala Lumpur which takes about an hour. The last part of the journey
can now be completed by the Skyway. |
